It can be intimidating when You make the decision to Cut the Cord on Cable. What you will and won’t have as far as programming is a big question. Knowing what you can’t live without is the first big question to answer.
The most important Question to ask Yourself…
What are the Tv Shows you must have? I mean what are the shows that you would miss the most? Is it a series or maybe you are a huge Sports fan? Make a list and be sure to list the shows in order of importance. The one thing most people don’t realize is that it is easy to get Programs you like – once you know where and how to find them. Remember your list? Make a note of the “Must Have” Channels and other questions that come to mind – they are all important.
Now that you have the channels you will start to form a plan for your Custom Tv experience. For example, say you want Sports, Local Channels and access to movies on demand. Now You know to check out ESPN Streaming and Stadium which is free OTA (over-the-air). You might check out HBO Go or Showtime Streaming for Movies. Don’t forget, if you are an Amazon Prime Member that you also then have access to Prime Video streaming service.

How do you know what the Best Antenna is for where you live? Start with a few questions: Do you live in a city or way out in the country? Are you in an area with a lot of Broadcast stations or are the stations spread over a large area? The mountains, beach or central Montana?
Your answers will ensure that you get the right antenna for your situation. Even if you live in an Apartment or in the bottom of a valley – there are antennas that will work for you. You may be surprised like I was. Living in Central North Carolina I am able to pick up 35 channels using an Indoor Antenna. These are all in 1080p TV and look fantastic. So now you know What you must have, whats available and what equipment you need… Now What?
Now that you have the basics in place you can work on pulling your custom plan together. And once you have the Basics… your ready to start thinking about options. Do you want to be able to record shows or sports? You need an OTA/Streaming capable DVR. What are my monthly cost going to look like compared to Cable or Satellite? Is this something I can do myself?
